A number of research students and staff from European, Indian, and North American universities undertaking research on the civil conflict in Sri Lanka have interviewed the Principal Researcher of the PPID. American, British, Canadian, German, Indian, Swedish, and Switzerland university postgraduate students and academic staff have interviewed the Principal Researcher.

Policy makers from three foreign countries (America, Britain, and Japan) and two international organisations (Asian Development Bank and the World Bank) have consulted the Principal Researcher of the PPID, number of times, on the protracted civil conflict in Sri Lanka, particularly the politico economic and social conditions in the Eastern and Northern Provinces.
 
Further, during August-September 2006 a postgraduate student from the Bern University, Switzerland was an intern at the PPID, researching the cost of war in Sri Lanka. In July 2005 an intern at the American Embassy in Colombo interviewed the Principal Researcher
