Kanagammah-Karthigesu Memorial Women’s Knowledge Centre (WCC)

A ‘women only’ public library was opened in March 2005 for use the use of females and children (free-of-charge) in the Thambasetty village, Point Pedro. This was set up in memory of late Mrs.Kanagammah Karthigesu and Mr.Murugguppillai Karthigesu who rendered yeoman service to the local community.

The purpose of this library is to promote the habit of reading among female folk and provide access to news, information, and knowledge. Daily and weekly newspapers and news magazines are available for reference. In addition, educational publications for the primary and secondary school children are also available for reference. This women’s library is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 6 PM.
